Encouraging the recycling of WEEE components where possible.
As part of the EU Directive laid before Parliament in December 2006 and enforced on 2nd January 2007. The WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) aims to reduce the quantity of electrical equipment disposed of and increase reuse and recycling.
Taylors operate an efficient WEEE Collection service for non hazardous and hazardous items, reducing impact on the environment. Equipment accepted at Taylors includes:
Non Hazardous wastes which do not contain any hazardous items:
Non-Hazardous Items are collected under a Duty of Care Waste Transfer Note, to fulfil legal obligations and are then sent for recycling, reuse or secure destruction.
Taylors also accepts the following hazardous items:
These items are collected under a Section 62 Note, and although are classed as a Hazardous Waste these are still sent for recycling.
