Interceptor Sampling and Analysis
Providing accurate pass or failure data and sound conformance advice.
Interceptor sampling and analysis plays a key role in the work we carry out on behalf of our clients and we attribute much of our success to our ability to perform this service with great accuracy and professionalism.
Interceptors are designed to catch Hydrocarbons and Silts/Solids – any other materials which are miscible in water will pass through interceptors with the water phase – which can cause a breach in consent to discharge.
Consents to discharge are set by Scottish Water who have the ability to impose fines, it is therefore important that interceptors have a regular maintenance schedule, this can include interceptor emptying and cleaning and also Interceptor Sampling.
Taylors offers a comprehensive service where our highly trained sampling technicians sample foul water or surface water interceptor fluids in line with consent levels set by Scottish Water. Samples are taken and consistently recorded over a minimum period of 12 months, providing our clients with accurate pass or failure data and sound conformance advice for safe fluid release.
Independent analysis of samples is undertaken to ensure peace of mind and no conflict of interest. Analysis is carried out by a UKAS accredited laboratory
Samples will be taken from the appropriate discharge points
